Questions people ask before leaving a job

Is gratuity calculated on basic or total salary?

On the basic salary only. Allowances such as housing and transport are not included, which is why the basic wage written in your contract matters so much.

Do I lose gratuity if I resign?

No. Under the current law (Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021) the old resignation reductions were removed. If you completed at least one year of continuous service, you receive the full gratuity whether you resign or are terminated.

How long does my employer have to pay my final settlement?

Article 53 gives the employer 14 days from the end of the contract to pay all wages and dues, including gratuity and unused leave salary.

Are my numbers saved anywhere?

No. All calculations run inside your browser. We do not store your salary or dates on any server.
